Chelsea Meiller

Bio

Chelsea Meiller has been in United States Navy since 2014, when she started pursuing photography professionally. After 6 months of training at the Defense Information School at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, she was stationed at Navy Public Affairs Support Element West in San Diego, Calif., before deploying on board the USS New Orleans (LPD 18).

Since beginning her professional photography career, she has taken photos across the U.S., and in 9 different countries including: Canada, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Djibouti, South Korea, Thailand and Ireland.

In 2017, she was accepted to the Military Visual Journalism Program at Syracuse University. She spent nearly 10 months taking classes at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse, where she studied photojournalism, graphic design, web design, sound production, and more. She received orders to be stationed at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, Calif. upon graduation.

In the future, she plans to pursue her passion for the environment by doing conservation and environmental photojournalism full time.
