Molten Memories
Sitting at the kitchen table inside his small, rural home, 74-year-old Don Burke hands Lauren Kurkimillis a small, square box. She gently removes the lid to reveal a blue pendant. The teardrop-shaped vessel of color holds the remains of her mother. As she holds the glass in her hands, she smiles.
