Katelyn Hunter
Bio
Katelyn Hunter is a native of Arcadia, Florida. She graduated from DeSoto County High School in 2011 and joined the Marine Corps shortly after, attending boot camp in Parris Island, North Carolina. Hunter enlisted as a combat photographer, a job that has allowed her to travel all over the world. She has served in Okinawa, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, and multiple locations throughout the United States. Hunter attended the Military Photojournalism Program at the S.I Newhouse School of Photojournalism, Syracuse University, receiving her certificate in May 2018. While in the program, she completed several still photo, multimedia, and journalism projects. After leaving the program, Hunter will check into the Marine Information Group in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Prior to joining the Marine Corps, Hunter had zero experience in the photography field, and has amassed a skill set she will be able to continue to use throughout her career in the Marine Corps.
