Marianique Angela Santos
Bio
Marianique Santos moved to the United States from the Philippines when she was 14. Prior to joining the Air Force in September 2011, Santos lived in Vacaville, CA. Following graduation of basic training and technical school, she was assigned to her first duty station at Andersen AFB, Guam, as a Public Affairs Specialist. Sergeant Santos assumed leadership roles early in her career when she filled in as acting Journalist section lead as well as editor and liaison for the Joint Region Marianas newspaper while still an Airman 1st Class. Her efforts earned her Below-the-Zone promotion to Senior Airman. In 2012, the Public Affairs Specialist and Still Photographic Specialist career fields merged and Santos was officially designated as a public affairs photojournalist. Upon completion of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications Military Visual Journalism program, Santos will be joining the Airman Magazine team located at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, as a photojournalist. Santos is focused becoming a better photography mentor and completing her Bachelor’s degree in Communications in 2017.
