Deana Heitzman
Bio
Staff Sgt. Deana Heitzman is currently attending the Military Visual Journalism program, hosted by S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
Previously, SSgt Heitzman held the role as NCO in charge of media operations, continuously improving Misawa Air Base’s positive image to the Japanese community and the world. She spearheaded multiple bilateral and multiservice community engagements throughout her tenure at MAB, kickstarted the PACAF F-16 Fighting Falcon Demonstration Team’s social media presence, led MAB worldwide CBS publicity coverage in less than 24-hours and was a key member in our unit being presented the PACAF’s “Best Communication Team” award in 2016.
Staff Sgt. Heitzman embodies the role of a photojournalist, while showcasing remarkable Airmanship, professionalism and leadership. Upon graduation of the MPJ program, she will be assigned to Airman Magazine at the Defense Media Activity on Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.
