Keith Wilson

Bio

Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class J. Keith Wilson was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated El Camino High School in June 2007 and graduated Ventura Community College in 2009 with an associate’s degree in Social Science. In January of 2017, Wilson entered the U.S. Navy attending basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois. Wilson attended the Defense Information School in Fort Meade, Maryland, and his first command was Navy Public Affairs Support Element East in October 2017.

Wilson deployed aboard the naval hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH-20) from September to December 2018 in support of Enduring Promise 2018. While assigned to the Comfort, he released more than 75 photos, created 11 multimedia products, wrote 5 news stories and designed 11 posters—reaching a global audience.

In addition to deploying with Comfort, Wilson joined USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) for Composite Training Unit Exercise, completed a weeklong, cross-country mission with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 22 in support of Rim of the Pacific Exercise 2018, and has participated in two Fleet Week Events.

In 2019, Wilson was selected to attend the Advanced Military Visual Information program at Syracuse University. Wilson’s personal awards and recognition include Blue Jacket of the Year for fiscal year 2018, a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and two Flag Letters of Commendation.

At home, Wilson enjoys spending time with his loving husband and chubby beagle.
