The S.I. Newhouse School of Communication at Syracuse University boasts a cutting-edge media facility that gives students the best possible preparation for careers in the communications industry. Broadcast and digital journalism and television, radio and film students have at their disposal two television studios with a master control room; these facilities have recently undergone an $18 million renovation and upgrade. Field equipment includes dozens of digital video camera systems (HD tape and tapeless formats), lights, microphones and other production accessories. Additional features include the Digital News Center, Center for Media Innovation and Dick Clark Studios – with a contemporary news set, a green screen, state-of-the-art lighting systems and robotic studio cameras.
