A New Turn

Fifteen years of demanding, unforgiving ballet has finally caught up to Felipe Panamá. Now that his body can no longer withstand the strain, he’s taking a new turn.

Ballet was more than a calling for Felipe Panamá—it was a way of life. He discovered dance when he was 17 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
But, after years of multiple injuries from forcing his body to do the impossible, he’s at a crossroads. He visits his physical therapist weekly to relieve some of the pain, but the only way to resolve his back issues is with surgery.
Despite these ongoing ailments, he continues to share his passion by inspiring young professionals in the classroom. Felipe teaches his students to avoid the same mistakes he did in order to lead a healthier career.
Through perseverance, Felipe manages day-to-day stressors and the new challenges of redirecting his priorities.
