Sidney Weston
Bio
Sidney Weston was born and raised in a small town in northern California and joined the United States Army in 2013 at the age of seventeen as a Combat Documentation Production Specialist. Upon completing Advanced Individual Training, she earned her Airborne Wings at Fort Benning, Georgia and was stationed with the 4th Military Information Support Group at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She supported multiple JSET’s across Europe with Psychological Operations, Civil Affairs and Special Forces.
In 2016 she was stationed at 7th Special Forces Group where she deployed to Afghanistan with Special Operations Forces in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel in 2017. Upon returning home, she was accepted into the Syracuse Military Photojournalism Program, completing two semesters at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Weston hopes to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in photojournalism, and continue to travel and see the world through the lens of a camera.
