Natasha Stannard
Bio
Natasha Stannard joined the U.S. Air Force in 2008 out of Sacramento, California. She started her career as a public affairs specialist, which built her foundation in writing and design. She always had a love for photography, and was happy when after two years in the Air Force, her career field consolidated with photography.
As a photojournalist Natasha traveled to eight countries to photograph and tell the stories of U.S. and partnering nations’ military members as well as the missions they supported. These assignments included supporting combat, transportation and partnership building and training missions.
After hearing about the Newhouse School of Public Communications’ Photojournalism program from one of her mentors, she made it a goal to improve her skills to get accepted into the course. Through the support and mentorship of others and her own drive, Natasha was accepted into the program in 2018.
After graduating from the MPJ program, Natasha will transfer to the 2nd Audio Visual Squadron at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, where she is excited to utilize what she learned at Newhouse to train others.
