Bio

MC1 Douglas is a native of Trinidad and migrated to Brooklyn, NY in 1995. He enlisted in the Navy in September 2008. After completing basic training, he was assigned to the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) as an undesignated deck seaman aboard a yard patrol vessel, serving the academy’s mission to train the Navy’s future leaders in basic seamanship, navigation and damage control.

He was then assigned to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, USS Abraham Lincoln as photo and video supervisor, damage control petty officer, work center supervisor and assistant leading petty officer.

Prior to transferring to SU, Douglas was assigned to Defense Media Activity (DMA) HQ at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, where he communicated DoD strategic themes and messages, command information products and news, sports and entertainment services to the entire DoD family and external audience via TV, radio, web and mobile apps to an audience of more than 4 million.
