Alexander Kubitza
Bio
Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Alexander C. Kubitza is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he graduated from St. Louis Park High School in June 2012. He enlisted in the United States Navy in February 2016 and graduated from Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illionos, in April 2016.
Following recruit training, MC2 reported to the Center for Service Support Detachment Ft. Meade, for Basic Mass Communication Specialist course “A” School at the Defense Information School in Ft. Meade, Maryland. He graduated MC “A” in November 2016, with follow on training at Naval Aircrew Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida, where he earned the designation of Aerial Cameraman.
In February 2017, MC2 reported to his first duty station aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) in San Diego. Here, he earned his surface warfare, aviation warfare and information warfare specialist qualifications. His other assignments included temporary additional duty aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104) in support of Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2018.
In December 2019, MC2 reported to Chief of Information Navy Department. He was then assigned to the Office of the Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) where he currently serves as the SECNAV’s Photographer and media production work center supervisor.
His personal and command awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (two awards), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Navy/MC Achievement Medal (two awards), and Navy Commendation Medal.
