Kathleen Polanco

Bio

Kathleen Polanco was born in Georgia, but was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She enlisted in the United States Army in 2010 as a Field Artillery Surveyor/Meteorological Crewmember. After serving the first six years of her career in the Field Artillery community, Kathleen attended the Basic Public Affairs Qualification Course at Fort Meade changing her military occupational specialty to a Public Affairs Specialist.

Kathleen deployed in 2011 with the 17th Fires Brigade in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Since her deployment to Afghanistan, she has served with the 7th Army Training Command in Grafenwoehr, Germany; 82nd Airborne Division Artillery at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 18th Fires Brigade at Fort Bragg; and the 17th Fires Brigade at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Upon graduating the Military Visual Journalism program, Kathleen will move to Fort Meade to teach military visual information at the Defense Information School.
